Tickling is worse than stealing.

To say things have been busy around the Dernwerks office is a bit of an understatement. It felt good today to sit down, get in some sketching practice, draw up a fully new background, add another character design, and even still have time to draw up No. 45 of the Dear Pirates.
All while listening to the Giants. Beautiful.
There’s a lot of new readers lately, so it’s probably best that I give a quick run-down of how this strip works. The questions being asked are indeed real questions from real people. If you have a question that you’d like answered, all you have to do is hit that “Ask Pete” button, punch it in, and hit send.
I’ve got a semi-extensive list of questions in the to-be answered pile, so sometimes it might take a while before Pirate Pete gets around to answering your specific question. Sometimes, though, a question hits the zeitgeist so well that will bump it up to the top of the queue.
As for updates, I usually start working on the strip either Wednesday night or Thursday morning. I try to cut as few corners as possible and sometimes it takes me a while to figure out how I want to draw up the strip. But you, as the reader, should expect the strip no later than Sunday night.
