You don’t understand just how important I am
It’s Thursday. The Otakon count-down clock is at 24 hours. So naturally, it’s time for me to tell y’all about CTCon.
First, I must say, best convention ever.
Really, seriously.
There was so many things that gave it this title. The friends were the first reason. There’s the friends that live close to me but were at the show, which include the comics Dead of Summer and The System. And I do want to point out The System a little more - this comic is a recent launch, but is routinely making me laugh. The comics get even better if you pretend that Ed McMahon is shouting out “Hey Oh” after every fourth panel.
Now, where was I?
Ah yes, friends. I must note my distant friends, too. This is one time a year I get to hang out with Ed from Geek Tragedy. We were booth neighbors this year, which was absolutely wonderful. A bad booth neighbor can torpedo the best of shows. So sorry about that, Ed.
Kev and Blondie are my favorite people from Connecticut, and not just for making Caf-fiends. Sorry about breaking Kev … multiple times.
James of In His Likeness and I are officially feuding now. I look forward to our battle. But it will never live up to the feud between Brian of Geist Panic and Chris of Blue and Blonde. Got to sit down with both of those two, and they’re great people. Great people that might end up shanking people soon.
Other good old friends I barely got to see include A Girl and Her Fed, In the Puddle, and Devil’s Panties.
And add a new friend to the list in Dirk from Paradigm Shift. For those werewolf fans that read my stuff, you have to be reading his, too. And you’d be amazed by the announcements he’d make when he’s had a couple beers (not saying anything, I promise).
I would be insane if I didn’t mention the fans. I got to meet people that started reading the strip after meeting me last year, people that decided they had to start reading it after meeting me this year, and people that had been reading the strip, but had no idea where they found it from.
But with all these great people around me, I must abuse my power. As the Webcomics Challenge Winner (yeah, you read that right, ME), I’ll be the Guest of Honor for the 2009 ConnectiCon. Mark your calendars now (or at least as soon as the dates become official). I’ll be there with a top hat, monocle, cane and spats. That last sentence is no joke.

Congrats on kicking tail and gaining the guest of honor spot! If you actually walk around with a top hat, cane, monocle and spats I will most likely laugh until I cry…and take tons of pictures. Don’t worry about breaking Kevin. He’s resilient…and you’ll have plenty more chances to do so again this weekend. Didn’t we promise Dirk that Kevin would tell him the Craigy stories? Or was it the worst date story of all time…

Hey, man! Good to hang out with you, too! I think the Connecticon-Otakon 1-2 punch almost killed me, but I’m bouncing back, now.
Thanks for the linkage! I’ll hit you back, man.
